Adored singer Mayerly Díaz has suddenly died aged 32 following an alleged heart attack after a cosmetic procedure, it’s been reported. It’s been suggested the mother-of-two’s cardiac arrest may have been connected to complications from the surgery – but this has not been confirmed. The pop and local folk singer, originally from La Sierra, underwent the procedure in a hospital in Facatativá, Colombia, in the early hours of Saturday, November 22. Mayerly leaves behind her two children, who are 11 and 13 years old. Tributes continue to pour in for the star, whose musical journey began at the age of 14.

Her rendition of No supiste perder – You Didn’t Know How to Lose – has an impressive 58,000 views on YouTube.

The singer’s manager and close friend, Néstor, said: “Her voice and passion for music represented all our people. We will remember her for her humility and the joy she brought in every song.”

The exact cosmetic procedure she underwent has not been widely disclosed.
