As reported by the Daily Record, the winners of the 2025 Scottish Fish and Chip Awards were recently revealed. The annual awards celebrate the best chippies in Scotland across a range of categories.
Taking home the title of Best Dine-In Fish and Chips at the 2025 Scottish Fish and Chip Awards was Il Pescatore in Paisley. The restaurant, which is located around 10 miles from Glasgow, specialises in fresh seafood dishes.
Inside, Il Pescatore features modern, bright, and stylish interiors. The restaurant icludes chic artwork on its walls and light fittings, and a luxury-feeling bar area.
The highlight of Il Pescatore’s menu is its traditional fish and chips, with haddock available both with or without panko breadcrumbs. Customers can also enjoy tartare sauce and mushy peas alongside their fish.
In addition to fish and chips, Il Pescatore serves a wide array of other dishes. These include mushroom chicken, salmon fillet, ribeye steak, and lobster.

A large range of pasta dishes are also available to order. Among these are spaghetti bolognese, clam linguine, and salmon tagliatelle.
Visitors can also enjoy desserts such as ice cream, cheesecake, and tiramisu. Other sweet treats on offer include sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and pistachio semifreddo.
