It has been a long week, and I needed energy for the weekend. Fortunately, I have been sent a free sample of Celsius to review.

The brand is an American energy drink that has been well received in the UK. When I noticed a flavour called “Cosmic Vibe”, I knew I had to try it first.

First impressions? It looks the part. The branding screams “fitness lifestyle” rather than “gamer fuel”, which makes you feel slightly more virtuous about cracking one open. Celsius markets itself heavily on clean living and healthy eating, boasting zero sugar and a vitamin-packed profile including B6, B12, and Vitamin C.

The Taste

I’ll admit, I braced myself for that familiar, cloying syrup taste that plagues so many energy drinks. I was pleasantly surprised. The “Cosmic Vibe” flavour is described as fruit punch, and it hits the mark. It is sparkling, berry-forward, and surprisingly clean on the palate.

It doesn’t have that aggressive, acidic bite that makes your teeth feel fuzzy. It went down far too easily for a drink with this much kick. If you are used to the heavy, sugar-laden alternatives, this feels like a refreshing upgrade—more like a functional sparkling water than a liquid battery.

The Energy

Make no mistake, this is a serious caffeine hit. Each 330ml can packs a massive 200mg of caffeine. To put that in perspective, that is roughly double what you’d get in a standard cup of coffee.

As a confessed caffeine fiend, I was impressed. The energy boost kicked in quickly. Crucially, it felt like a “clean” energy. I didn’t get the jittery hands or the heart palpitations that can sometimes accompany high-caffeine drinks. It was a sharp, focused alertness that helped me power through the day without the dreaded crash an hour later. The formula includes strawberry, lemon and orange extracts, which might explain the smoother delivery.

Overall

Celsius can in front of dinosaur painting

Celsius Cosmic Vibe is a solid addition to the UK energy drink market. It delivers a potent punch without the sugar crash or the medicinal aftertaste. If you need a serious pick-me-up that tastes genuinely good, this is worth a try.
