Supporters have grown increasingly worried about one Manchester United player after footage of Mason Mount consoling him following the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon went viral. Ruben Amorim’s side have turned a corner this season, and their comeback victory at Selhurst Park means they have lost only once in their last seven matches across all competitions.
Certainly, inconsistencies still prevent the fallen giants from climbing higher than their current seventh-placed position in the Premier League, but slowly and surely Amorim is finding ways to get the best out of players who either arrived for big money under his tutelage or have previously struggled under the pressure of performing at Old Trafford.
Joshua Zirkzee and the aforementioned Mount – the two goalscorers in Sunday’s early kickoff – are among those who have somewhat redeemed themselves, as are Casemiro and Matthijs de Ligt. But there is still one player who appears to be struggling – and he let his emotions get the better of him at full-time.
Mount Seen Consoling Leny Yoro After Crystal Palace Win

Leny Yoro, who the United hierarchy beat Real Madrid and Liverpool to in order to secure his signature in a £52 million deal last summer, gifted Crystal Palace their opener after fouling Jean-Philippe Mateta – with the Eagles forward converting from the spot. Even though the Red Devils were able to turn things around, it seems the young defender wasn’t prepared to forget his mistake.
Fortunately, Mount knows one or two things about overcoming hardship in football, and he was there to show support for his teammate. He was spotted consoling Yoro as the players went over to celebrate their win with the away supporters. Watch the incident below:
The moment has produce a lot of praise in the way of Mount, with one X user commenting: “BIG UP to Mason Mount for this after the game by the way. Yoro is going through a tough patch that all young stars go through, but he’s an incredible talent, and I’m glad to see the others helping him.” Meanwhile, a second added:
“Mason Mount knows the pain, it’s good to see him supporting him [Leny Yoro].”
A third labelled Mount a “captain,” as a fourth concluded: “Good on Mount, Yoro is young and this will be part of his growth. But he still needs support.”
Leny Yoro Has Time on His Side, His Care Proves His Worth

It doesn’t take rocket science to see that Yoro has been largely unimpressive this season, and his costly error against Palace isn’t his first of the campaign. But he only stopped being a teenager this month, and with time on his side, he still has every chance of becoming one of the Premier League’s elite defenders.
Top clubs with world-class scouting systems don’t bid for Yoro if they have doubts, and the fact that he has already taken responsibility and shown that he cares is far more than what many of his seniors are doing. There’s a lesson to be learned in the need for him to keep his chin up when things get tough – but equally, his constant desire to impress can only be a good thing going forward for a player that had a steady season last time out.
