The Christmas parade will leave Wallyford Miners Club at 6.30pm, accompanied by Preston Lodge High School Pipe Band.

It will make its way to the mining memorial stone, where gala king Cameron Howie and gala queen Maja Gorecka Drozdz will carry out the official Christmas tree switch-on. The Rev Andrew Agnew, of Wallyford Community Church, will be in attendance at the ceremony.

There will be the chance to meet Santa at Wallyford Community Church after the parade.

A spokesperson for Wallyford Community Council, which organises the festive lights, said: “Our community has done an amazing job this year with fundraising all year to allow us to have the lights on Salters Road the same as last year.

“We cannot guarantee this will continue for years to come, but we have all worked hard to allow it to happen this year.”
