The ‘atmospheric experiences’, which opened last Friday, will run on alternate days over the course of the next five weeks.

A 360-degree visual and audio experience dominates the 10,000 square foot main space, while visitors will have the opportunity to visit adjacent “reflection rooms”.

Spaces will also be provided for neurodivergent children and adults.

Some of the artists’ best-known works will be featured over the five-week experience, including Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Terrace of a Café at Night; and Monet’s Poppies, Impression: Sunrise and Water Lilies.

Anna Parry, UK Business Development at Annerin Productions, who staged the exhibits, said: “What a wonderful opening weekend in Edinburgh – I’m absolutely thrilled with the response to Beyond Monet and Beyond Van Gogh that we’ve enjoyed here in the Scottish capital.

“Visitors have been enchanted and many have also been moved by being immersed in the wonderful worlds of these two visionaries with a paintbrush and palette.”

This is the third event put on by Annerin Productions, following visits to Aberdeen and Glasgow in recent months.

More than 35,000 tickets were sold during the first three weeks of the Beyond Van Gogh exhibition in Glasgow last summer.

Parry added: “The way in which both experiences have been designed means they are completely accessible to people of all ages, making it the perfect family-friendly activity for the festive season.

“And I’m delighted we’re also able to offer special relaxed sessions at the Royal Highland Centre with the support of We Too!”

Ticket prices begin at £23.94 for adults, with various concessions on offer.
