With support for the last-gen version of Genshin Impact scheduled to cease in the New Year, both Sony and dev HoYoverse have been working overtime to transition players to the PS5.
Recently, it released a trailer, highlighting how much better the open world adventure plays on the new console. And now it’s prepared a Limited Edition DualSense to further encourage the jump. (And satisfy long-time fans as well, of course.)
The pad – announced earlier today, ahead of the gacha’s big new update this week – comes in a kind of ivory white, with emblems reflecting the Traveler and Paimon, who are the primary protagonists of the game.
PlayStation designed the controller in collaboration with HoYoverse, and here’s what President of Global Publishing Wenyi Jin told the PS Blog:
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to present the DualSense Wireless Controller – Genshin Impact Limited Edition to our players and fans around the world. The controller features iconic design elements inspired by Genshin Impact’s beloved Traveler Twins and Paimon, celebrating years of adventure and companionship in Teyvat, alongside our cherished memories with the community. We hope that Travelers will enjoy the company of the controller and continue to expand their adventure in Genshin Impact!”
Pre-orders for the pad will open on PlayStation Direct and at participating retailers on 11th December, with a 21st January release date planned for Japan and Asia. A western launch will then follow on 25th February.
The pad’s not cheap, retailing for $84.99/£74.99, but Sony does stress only limited quantities will be available, so this is more of a collector’s piece we suppose.
Personally, we love the design, particularly the Genshin Impact logo on the back. But is this a pad you’ll be picking up? Let us know below.
