A pub that regularly hosts family-friendly events has been given permission to expand its maximum capacity from 6,000 to 8,000 people.
Almondsbury Creative, located off Gloucester Road near the M5, uses its large field for festivals, firework displays and other events.
South Gloucestershire Council has agreed to allow it to host larger events, although the pub’s landlord, Garth Jackson, said 8,000 was a “maximum theoretical number” and would not happen regularly.
“When we set up our events, we really consider the local houses,” he added. Two people had objected to the application, raising concerns about noise and parking.
