Love Island star Adam Collard has reassured fans after his fiancée, Laura Woods, collapsed live on ITV during coverage of England’s friendly clash with Ghana at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton. Broadcasters immediately cut to a commercial break after the presenter fell forward, with pundit Ian Wright quickly stepping in to catch her.

Adam, 30, shared an update on social media, writing: “Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages” alongside a white heart emoji. ITV also confirmed Woods is “doing OK.”

Following the incident, fellow presenter Katie Shanahan took over the broadcast, explaining to viewers: “As you have probably noticed, we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill.

“She’s in very good hands, so I’m stepping in at late notice.”

Fans quickly sent their support online, with one commenting: “Really hope Laura Woods is okay. Fair play to Ian Wright and Anita Asante for catching her. Fair play to the stand-in presenter who stepped in, some effort that.”

Laura and Adam have been together since 2023, shortly after Adam’s second stint on Love Island. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Leo, in January, reports the Mirror.

Earlier this year, Laura opened up about the “very awful times” she and fiancé Adam endured after she suffered a miscarriage. She shared a video of him on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, on which he cried recalling the moment.

She wrote: “We really had some very awful times last year, but this big, beautiful man has got me through every one of them… And I’ve been so very proud watching him on this.”

Laura has risen through the ranks of sports broadcasting, appearing on Sky Sports and fronting the TalkSport breakfast show, before hosting for ITV and appearing on TNT Sports.

She took a step back from presenting duties before giving birth in January this year but returned to screens to host coverage of the Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Inter Milan for TNT.
