Liverpool’s weather forecast has been revealed as warnings about flooding were issued by the Environment Agency for other parts of the country. Over the next five days, local flooding from rivers is expected for parts of the North East of England, and probable for parts of the West Midlands today, Wednesday, December 3.
The Environment Agency said flooding is also possible across other parts of England from Thursday, December 4 to Saturday. Land, roads, and some properties will flood and there will be travel disruption. However, the River Mersey is not covered by these warnings.
Flooding has been forecast to affect locations near the River Dee, which sits between Wirral and North Wales. River levels are slowly rising and are due to peak by midday tomorrow, December 3. River levels will then begin to fall after this time.
Flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
The Environment Agency has urged people to avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
In Liverpool however, the weather is predicted to be cloudy with sunny intervals through most of the day until 4pm, when the sun sets. It is expected to remain dry through day and night, according to Met Office.
The highest chance of rain falling will be between 10am and 11am, with a 30% chance of precipitation. You should still wrap up warm though.
Temperatures are expected to hit highs of 8C but in reality that will feel closer to 6C, falling as low as 2C in the early morning and 4C late at night.
Strong winds are not expected, with a gentle breezes forecast throughout the day.
The general Met Office forecast for the north west reads: “Remaining unsettled, with occasional sharp showers.
“Today: A bright and dry start in the south, though patchy cloud and occasional showers in the north.
“Through the day further showers move in from the west, with the odd sharp shower possible.
“Still some sunshine though, especially inland. Breezy. Maximum temperature 8C.
“Tonight: Showers fade quickly through the evening with some clear spells developing.
“Skies cloud over from the west overnight. Winds strengthening as the next band of rain arrives towards the morning.”
