A dramatic photo shows the moment a school bus became stuck on an embankment in Bristol.
The bus, carrying children from Winterbourne Academy, a secondary school in South Gloucestershire, became stuck on a ridge this morning (Wednesday).
It came off Cleeve Wood Road this morning (November 3) whilst taking the children to school.
Both directions of the road were blocked as Avon and Somerset Police attended the incident.
Nobody was injured in the incident, and the children were eventually picked up in a recovery vehicle.
A statement posted to the secondary school’s Facebook page explained the timeline of events.
“We’re relieved to confirm that all students are safe and well but the 427 bus has been involved in a minor incident this morning. This will cause a delay to students’ journey into school as a replacement bus has been dispatched to pick them up.

“We will share further updates as and when we have more information.
“Update 08:54 – the double-decker became stuck on the embankment as it attempted to navigate a corner, causing the wheels to become stuck. While a pickup bus is enroute, the incident has caused heavy traffic to build up which will impact its arrival.
“Update 09:07 – the police are in attendance to help with traffic in the area and will be assisting with getting the bus back on track once the recovery vehicle arrives. Students picked up will be brought to the front entrance of school but as yet no confirmed ETA.
“Update 09:49 – we’re pleased to report that students from the 427 have now arrived safely in school.”
