A statement read: “It is with mixed emotions that we announce the closure of Cafe Circa.

“Over the last 20 years, we have worked tirelessly, with devotion and passion, to create a home from home at Circa. We have taken great pride in our small business and the success which it garnered.

“Evermore priceless to us, are the memories it creates. Times of laughter, tears and togetherness; both with each other and our loyal customers who became friends.

“As many of these friends will know, our son Sean was suddenly, critically ill. We are delighted to now have him home and recuperating.

“We would like to thank everyone for their well wishes at what has been a very difficult time.

“With much love, the McMahon Family.”

The McMahon family ended their goodbye message by urging customers to continue to shop local where possible and support the ‘beautiful small businesses in your area’.

First opened in 2006, Cafe Circa was known for its menu of breakfast and lunch dishes, including Stornoway black pudding, eggs and toast soldiers, warming homemade soups or scones and bakes made with the highest quality ingredients.
