Police have stepped up patrols at a leisure park on the outskirts of Bristol after after an increase in anti-social behaviour.

Avon and Somerset Police said there has been an increase in calls over the last month relating to anti-social behaviour (ASB) and groups of youths gathering at Aspects Leisure complex in Longwell Green.

Officers have continued patrols in the area but have struggled to identify offenders. The force said it is continuing with its patrols and working with the security and staff around the site.

In a statement a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “In partnership with the management, we have created a new system where they will share profiles of offenders, people causing problems within the store.

“This system falls in line with the pub watch and shop watch processes and will help us tackle ASB and issue banning notices to offenders.

“We will then look to link up with the store regarding repeat offenders and consider police and ASB powers, looking at out of court, low level contracts especially to deter youths from causing problems.

“We hope that this will have a positive effect on the levels of problems reported throughout the Aspects Leisure Park site.”

They added that the force has also arranged for McDonalds to link up with its new CCTV system to allow better sharing of footage which will again help officers deal with emerging problems.

In the run up to Christmas, the force said neighbourhood policing teams will also be increasing patrols in and around Gallagher Retail Centre in order to reassure shop workers and the public, while also disrupting and dealing with ASB and crime following persistent levels of shop theft at the site.
