A police spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing and the death was being treated as unexplained.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 07:08 to attend an incident on Berkeley Street, Glasgow.

“We dispatched four ambulances, a paramedic response unit, a special operations response unit, and a trauma team to the scene.

“We transported one patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and two patients to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”

The street remains cordoned off with officers still in attendance.
