• There’ve been persistent rumors that Prince William will strip Prince Harry of his title once he’s king.
  • A source says William plans to leave his brother’s title in tact because he thinks the Sussexes’ brand is “worthless.”
  • The heir apparent also doesn’t want to be seen as vindictive or petty.

There’s been a lot of speculation about whether or not Prince William will strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles once he becomes King, and the latest sources are leaning…nope! And not out of the goodness of his heart. Apparently, William thinks the Sussexes’ brand is “worthless” already, and that stripping them of their titles would make him look bad.

Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reports that William “doesn’t want to look petty,” and an insider says “By the time William takes the throne, the Sussex brand will be so diminished it won’t even matter. Why take away something that’s already worthless?”

Apparently William “sees no strategic threat” from the Sussexes, and thinks stripping them of his titles could make him seem “vindictive.” A source added that “Ignoring them will hurt more.”

For what it’s worth, a palace source also recently told Page Six that they “would not be surprised” if William stripped Harry of his title, saying “If they pass these bills, I would not be surprised if Harry is the next one to go. I would not be surprised if William does that…he’s not a vindictive person, but he feels very let down and it’s always much more difficult when you are let down by somebody close to you.”
