Brits across the country have been urged to stay on the look out for one specific error on a coin which could rake you in a large amount of money, according to experts.
The Brexit 50p coin has been in circulation since 2020, however, a specialist has claimed there are a few of them out there with certain mistakes on them that could hand you a tidy sum of money.
Expert, Coin Collecting Wizard, who regularly posts on TikTok outlined that this particular coin with an error on it could be worth over £40,000.
The coin can be distinguished by the phrase “peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations” on its ‘tail’ side. On its head side, you will find a picture of Queen Elizabeth II.

Each coin was manufactured to mark the date Britain left the EU, however, some coins were made prior to the official date being released – so some of them are said to have the incorrect date on, according to the Express.
These errors were made because Brexit was set to occur the year before it actually did. This means the date you want to spot on the 50p is March 29, 2019, or October 31, 2019 in order to rake in some serious cash.
The expert said: “This 50 pence could have a rare error worth of fortune. A small number of Brexit 50 pence coins featuring the incorrect leaving date were produced by the Royal Mint.
“The coin was originally due to be released in March 2019, but due to setbacks with Brexit was pushed to January 2020.
“It is not yet known how many of the Brexit coins were produced, with the Treasury only confirming that some were made for test purposes.”
In the clip, he showcased one of the coins from March 29, 2019, with the Brit urging others to “look out for” this set design.
He went on: “So always check your Brexit 50p as you never know.”
“We do not know whether the coins have made it into the hands of the general public and suspect they’re being held back by the mint. There are many collectors out there who would pay a premium for the Brexit coin with an incorrect date.”
In a prior video to this, the specialist had said a Brexit coin with the wrong date could be worth around £40,000.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that two copies with the October date had been discovered.
Gregory Edmund, a coin specialist from Spink & Son auction house, told The Telegraph that if the coins went up for auction he would expect them to fetch more than £40,000.
He commented to say: “Ever since the official London Gazette notice for the 2019 Brexit 50 pence has existed, I have wondered if survivors of the one million cancelled coins would one day surface.
“Given the extremely stringent security at the Royal Mint, to suddenly have two examples survive, and be available for study at the same time, is a unique opportunity. This truly feels like my Charlie Bucket moment discovering the numismatic Golden Ticket.”
A thousand trial coins were made to mark the first exit date of March 29, 2019. And around a million of the October coins were thought to be melted down and recycled.
