Spain enters the 2026 World Cup with sights set on returning to the glory it experienced when it last won the tournament in 2010.

La Roja are back atop the soccer world after winning the 20224 UEFA championship, and this new crop of talent will be eager to match their late-2000s, early-2010s predecessors in winning both tournaments.

Manager Luis de la Fuente will bring a formidable squad to North America in summer 2026. The team’s most notable player is the 18-year-old winger Lamine Yamal, who had a standout tournament at Euro 2024, where he became the youngest’s player in tournament history. Forward Álvaro Morata is the team captain and works in tandem with Yamal in Spain’s attack. In midfield, Pedri will be expected to play a big role next summer.
