New 30mph speed limits have come into force on a number of main roads across Birmingham.
Residents, commuters and visitors will have to get used to the new rules quickly, and risk fines and penalty points for going too fast.
Traffic will move slower than Brummies are used to on many of the major routes around the city.

Over 25 roads are affected and council bosses said “virtually all roads” would now have a maximum speed limit of 30mph.
Signage has gone up alerting drivers to the changes, with affected roads including stretches of Bristol Road, Hagley Road West and Coventry Road.
Motorists will need to ensure they stay within speed limits and there’s a chance some could be caught out, particularly on wider roads where they may assume the limit would be 40mph.
Changes have been made as part of a major safety drive by the city council.

New speed cameras are also being rolled out at six locations.
Work to install cameras has started at the first of these, Coventry Road.
Cllr Majid Mahmood, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “When we declared a road safety emergency we promised to take action and this is what is happening.
“There is no excuse for dangerous driving. We are installing these cameras to stop those drivers who think it is acceptable to put people at risk by travelling too fast.”
He added: “Our message here is simple: Slower is Safer. Stick to speed limits and save lives.
“Neither is it about money – most of the revenue will go to central government – it is about road safety and I would be happy if not a single fine was issued for excess speed.”
