More than 300 teams enter the Academia Golf Classic, with the Brocket Hall team one of four to reach the semi finals which will be played at the Montecastillo Golf Course in February.
Considered to be the premier club team event, the the team’s Academia run began with a bye in the first round and then a close-fought 3/2 win away at Royston.
Another away match followed in the next round against Verulum, and it was once again a 3/2 victory for Brocket Hall.

The following rounds saw the team pick up momentum, seeing off Aldwickbury 4.5/0.5 on home turf, winning 4/1 on the road against Hadley Wood and then securing a thumping 5/0 win over Ingesterre.
Last year’s semi-finalist Northamptonshire County now stood between Brocket Hall and the final four in Spain, but roared on by a home crowd, the team picked up a 3.5/1.5 win.
Brocket Hall will face Dundas Park, The Warren and Royal North Devon in sunny Spain, and the team has plenty of momentum going into the tournament after Pearson Hertfordshire County Championship earlier this year for the first time since 2007.
