Liverpool have already been linked with several players in the lead up to the January transfer window. The Reds’ recent downturn has sparked transfer rumours as Arne Slot seeks ways to restore his Liverpool team to their league-winning form.

Mohamed Salah is one of the big names rumoured to be leaving Liverpool after failing to match his prolific displays from last season. Meanwhile, Slot recently addressed loanee Harvey Elliott’s limited playing time at Aston Villa.

Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo is among the players to have been linked with a January move to Anfield. Here, ECHO Sport examines some of the headlines surrounding the Reds.

Bournemouth ace Antoine Semenyo has been consistently linked with a move away from the Cherries due to the £65million release clause in his contract. The 25-year-old signed a new deal in the summer but is reportedly on the radar of several clubs after an impressive start to the season.

Semenyo is aiming for a successful campaign ahead of representing Ghana at the World Cup. The forward could face England during the group stage and his international manager Otto Addo believes Semenyo is prepared for the next phase of his career.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

“He has done very well at Bournemouth, but with all the respect for Bournemouth and what they’re doing, surely it is natural for him to take the next step,” Addo told The Athletic following Friday’s World Cup draw.

“Whether it’s in the winter or summer, it is a [different] question but it won’t make a difference for us. I’m looking forward to him showing more of what he can to the world.”

However, Liverpool are expected to encounter stiff competition from Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Semenyo’s services. Although he attracted interest during the summer transfer window, Semenyo committed his future to Bournemouth by penning a fresh long-term contract.

Joe Gomez battle

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has reportedly caught the attention of Serie A outfit AC Milan. The 28-year-old defender holds the distinction of being the Reds’ longest-serving player.

According to Calcio Mercato, Milan consider Gomez a “desirable” prospect as they hunt for defensive additions. The San Siro club had previously shown interest in the versatile defender during the summer window.

Yet Gomez has become an increasingly important figure for Liverpool. The England international earned his first league start of the campaign against West Ham last weekend and offers flexibility across multiple positions during this demanding phase of the season.

Gomez made the switch to Liverpool from Charlton Athletic back in 2015. He has played 250 matches during his Liverpool career, claiming two Premier League crowns and the 2019 Champions League trophy.
