The Met Office has issued a yellow rain warning for South Wales, covering Gwent, Cardiff, and the Vale of Glamorgan. The warning is in place from 6:00 pm on Monday, December 8, until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 9.
Outbreaks of rain will become persistent and heavy on Monday night into Tuesday morning, and, while the rain may be more intermittent during Tuesday daytime, some occasional heavy bursts will still be possible.

There is a small chance of 80-100 mm falling over the most exposed, prone hills.
