CCTV trawls are underway in Birmingham today after two men were stabbed in an early hours brawl, police said.

Enquiries, including speaking to witnesses, are ongoing as officers try to “establish the exact circumstances” and find “all those involved.”

The violent disorder took place shortly before 5am on Saturday morning, Dec 6, in the Summer Lane area of the city, where Hockley borders Birmingham city centre.

Two destroyed cars, including a £200k Lamborghini supercar, were left discarded at the scene – however it is not yet clear exactly what happened.

When asked the nature of the damage to the vehicles, police said enquiries into this are ongoing.

In an update, police today said the eight people who were arrested, including two women and six men, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

All eight, aged between 19 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding. Anyone with information about the incident has been urged to contact the force.

An updated statement, released on Sunday afternoon, read: “We are continuing our enquiries such as reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses to establish the exact circumstances and identify all those involved.

The vehicle, a Skoda, is also showing significant front-end damage.

“Six men and two women, aged between 19 and 24, have now been bailed pending further enquiries.
