At the British-American Business Council’s Christmas luncheon, held in Santa Monica, California, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, joked about life in the royal family.
Specifically, the prince was a guest and speaker at the 65th annual Christmas luncheon, and on that occasion he compared life in the royal family to the popular British television series “Downton Abbey.”
“People sometimes ask me if growing up with the royal family was like ‘Downton Abbey.’ Yes, but only one of those worlds is filled with drama, intrigue, fancy dinners and marriages to Americans, while the other is just a TV series,” Harry said.

The Duke of Sussex also reflected on life in the United States as a British citizen: “For me, being British is not about where you stand, but what you stand for.”
Harry also mentioned that celebrating American Independence Day was a new experience for him.
“It’s a new world for me, celebrating independence from Britain and especially independence from my great-great-great-great-grandfather,” he said.
“I look forward to greeting my compatriots from ‘left of the pond’ if they get through customs and ICE,” Harry joked.
His speech followed a surprise appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on December 3, where he joked about how he “lost his way” while auditioning for the role of a prince in a Christmas romantic comedy. /Telegraph/
