The charity works tirelessly to promote mental wellbeing and ensure that everyone has access to the help they need. Every penny raised on the day will contribute to their vital work.

Fortius Athletics has long been dedicated to promoting functional fitness for all levels of fitness, encouraging individuals to embrace a healthier and more active lifestyle. The competition truly embodied this philosophy, welcoming participants from all backgrounds and experience levels.

Among the athletes were those who had only been practicing the sport for six months, stepping onto the competition floor for the first time, as well as seasoned competitors with up to eight years of experience. This diversity brought a unique sense of camaraderie and inspiration to the day, showcasing that strength lies in more than just physical ability.

The day wasn’t just about fitness – it was a celebration of community spirit. Local businesses played a significant role in the event’s success, generously donating an array of fantastic prizes for a raffle. These contributions added an extra layer of excitement and encouraged even more participation, further boosting the event’s fundraising efforts.

Fortius Athletics, located in Cambuslang, has been at the heart of the local fitness community for nine years and now boasts over 80 dedicated members.

Nisha herself is no stranger to competition, having finished an impressive 10th in the 2025 CrossFit Open in the UK. Her leadership and passion for fitness continues to inspire the Fortius community to aim higher and push further.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Fortius community and its supporters, the event successfully raised an outstanding £2115 for SAMH, contributing to vital mental health resources and programs.

Once again, Fortius Athletics has proven that fitness can be a powerful force for good, combining a passion for sport with a meaningful cause. The Thunderbuddy Throwdown continues to be a highlight on the fitness calendar, uniting athletes, local businesses and supporters in the fight for better mental health.
