Mohamed Salah has received an offer that is bound to unsettle Liverpool‘s hierarchy. Over the weekend, the Egyptian claimed he had been ‘thrown under a bus’ and disclosed he has no relationship with manager Arne Slot after being left on the bench against Leeds United on Saturday. In the wake of his damning statements, he was left out of the squad for Tuesday’s game against Inter Milan.

There exists a real possibility that Salah may have already played his last game for the Reds, with Saudi Pro League sides monitoring the situation ahead of the January transfer window. With the relationship between club and player deteriorating rapidly, television presenter Piers Morgan has presented an offer to Salah.

Morgan’s infamous face-to-face with Cristiano Ronaldo ultimately determined the Portuguese superstar’s destiny during his second spell at Manchester United.

Reacting to Salah’s scathing observations, Morgan wrote on X: “Wow… maybe time for an interview @MoSalah?”

Back in 2022, Ronaldo delivered an explosive interview to Morgan where he criticised the Glazers’ ownership, condemned the club’s training facilities and targeted then-manager Erik ten Hag.

United immediately cancelled his contract, paving the way for his transfer to Al-Nassr, where he continues to play.

Ronaldo’s revelations divided supporters, with some United fans applauding his honesty whilst arguing the club needed to address certain harsh truths. Others, however, slammed what they viewed as a petulant outburst from a player whose emotional homecoming had fallen flat.

Liverpool chiefs will be hoping desperately that Salah doesn’t take up Morgan’s offer. At present, a solution appears unlikely, though it’s not completely impossible.

Nevertheless, any further public meltdowns from the 33-year-old, especially directed at someone as prominent as Morgan, could signal the conclusion of his Anfield career.

The Reds must also consider the potential consequences for the remainder of the squad.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker has admitted: “This is not a situation that makes us happy, first and foremost because on a personal level we all love Mo.

“He is a hugely important player for the team, he is a wonderful human being, he is a spectacular footballer and has been very important for the club.”

He added: “We were a little bit caught by surprise [by Salah’s comments] but we know it is a personal situation, so we are leaving it between him and the club. What we believe does not come into things.

“What we want is for him and the club to reach an agreement in the best interests of him and the club and all of the playing staff. I hope he plays again for the club. That’s a personal situation between Mo and the club.

“We as his team-mates and his friends, we hope the best thing happens for him, but as Liverpool players we want the best for the club as well. We want a win-win situation for everyone.”
