Transfer talk is beginning to warm up at Leeds.
After Troy Parrott dominated the headlines as a target for Leeds in November, more names are emerging as potential arrivals at Elland Road.
The Daily Mail believe Leeds have asked Hibernian about Josh Mulligan – while Fabrizio Romano believes the 49ers are interested in Martin Baturina of Como as well.
Some Leeds fans may not know much about any of these names, so it might be of interest to hear that Manuel Neuer has already given one a glowing endorsement – having praised Martin Baturina in September 2024.
What Manuel Neuer said about Leeds United target Martin Baturina
The Croatia international put his name up in lights after a €25m (£21m) move from Dinamo Zagreb to Como in June 2025, but the Bayern Munich No.1 already knew how dangerous he was before that lucrative transfer.

Ahead of a UEFA Champions League clash between Bayern Munich and Dinamo Zagreb in September 2024, Neuer highlighted Baturina as a threat when saying: “We do our own analysis, we know what their strengths and weaknesses are.
“It is always helpful to play quickly, to be in the right positions. We know that number 10, Martin Baturina, is a strong player, and Bruno Petkovic in attack also brings power in the penalty area, so we have to be on our toes.”

Baturina – who once rejected Real Madrid – was certainly worth highlighting as a threat.
The Croatian went on to finish that 2024/25 campaign with six goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, which earned him that move to Como.
Unfortunately, the 22-year-old was unable to cause Neuer much trouble in that particular game however, as Dinamo Zagreb suffered a 9-2 defeat inside the Allianz Arena.
The 49ers need an alternative in mind for Leeds United
By all accounts, this will be a tough deal to negotiate in January.

Romano believes Como are not looking to force Baturina out having only signed him in June, while the player himself remains eager to stay and prove himself despite making just one start in Serie A so far this season.
Therefore, the 49ers would be wise to have an alternative lined up, as it would be a nightmare to waste precious time attempting this deal only for it not to happen.
