Police have released an image of a man they are seeking following a 1am sexual assault on a teenage girl.

The girl is said to have met a man, aged in his 20s, at Newton Heath and Moston tram stop before walking to Nuthurst Park in New Moston. She is said to have suffered a sexual assault in the park.

Greater Manchester Police has launched an investigation into the incident which took place at about 1am on November 28, 2025. As part of the appeal, officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak to.

The force, in a statement, said the suspect is believed to be a male in his mid-20s from the Failsworth area. Officers say it was reported that he met the victim at Newton Heath and Moston tram stop and walked with her to Nuthurst Park where the sexual assault took place.

PC Suliat Gboshe, of the City of Manchester division of GMP, said: “We understand that this incident will be extremely worrying for the local community, and we want to assure the public that this incident is being taken very seriously. The protection of women and girls is an absolute priority to GMP.”
