Strictly Come Dancing fans were left up in arms after the results of the Christmas Day special had been leaked weeks before the festive special hit the airwaves. As the BBC ballroom show comes to an end, viewers are already searching for their next ballroom fix – and they don’t have long to wait. On Christmas Day, fans will sit down to watch the glamorous Christmas line-up take to the BBC ballroom to dazzle viewers one last time.

This year will be even more special for fans, who will bid farewell to long-standing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman after 21 years at the helm. This year’s festive line-up includes Scarlett Moffatt and Vito Coppola, Jodie Ounsley aka Fury and Neil Jones, Nicholas Bailey and Luba Mushtuk, Melanie Blatt and Kai Widdrington, Brian McFadden and Michelle Tsiakkas, and Babatunde Aléshé and Nancy Xu.

But they won’t be the only ones taking to the infamous dancefloor this year, after it was revealed that Strictly hosts Tess and Claudia will take to the stage to perform their final dance.

However, the results of the epic dance competition were released weeks before the show was set to air. While the BBC doesn’t release the name of the person who has been eliminated from the show, spoilers have been leaked online since 2012.

Now, it has been revealed which couple impressed the judges, although Express.co.uk has decided not to reveal the names of the duo who lifted the glitterball trophy. But we can say that viewers were left enraged by the results, with many taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their outrage online.

One user penned: “Are we even surprised?” as another agreed: “Think we all knew it would be them…”, meanwhile, a third fumed: “Won’t be watching Strictly again even at Christmas”. A fourth echoed: “Not going to waste my time watching [shifty eyes emoji], for protest for Lewis and Katya.”

Meanwhile, the BBC final is just days away, with the final five couples confirmed to perform in the semi-finals this weekend after last week’s bombshell dance off. Viewers will remember how former Emmerdale star Lewis Cope and Katya Jones found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, despite both couples topping the leaderboard.

Unfortunately, the soap hunk lost his place in the competition, meaning Amber will join George Clarke, Karen Carney, and Balvinder sopal in the semi-finals. In the nail-biting semi-final, each couple will perform two new routines and there will be performances from Australian hitmaker Kylie Minogue and boyband Five to round out the night.

Viewers will have to stay tuned to see which couples will advance to the live final next weekend. Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays from 6.20pm on BBC One or catch up on BBC iPlayer.
