Erling Haaland poked fun at Jamie Carragher during an interview with CBS Sports Golazo
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland joked that Jamie Carragher was a “loose cannon” following the former Liverpool’s passionate reaction to Mohamed Salah’s outburst over the weekend.
Haaland’s first half penalty at the Santiago Bernabeu handed City a huge three points over Real Madrid. After the win, he spoke to Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Carragher on CBS Sports Golazao’s show.
Richards kicked off the interview by asking how he was and the striker replied: “I’m getting nervous with Jamie Carragher in the studio!” After the studio shared a laugh, Carragher replied with: “You don’t need to be nervous, Erling. Don’t be nervous.”

Haaland was then asked who he preferred between Carragher and Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger, who had been a tough opponent for the striker in Madrid. “I mean, I think I have to say Rudiger now because Carragher is a bit of a loose cannon now.”
After Haaland and Richards briefly discussed the striker’s appearance on the Rest is Football podcast this week, Carragher asked the City forward if he would come on his podcast, Stick To Football, alongside Roy Keane, who has history with Haaland’s dad, Alf-Inge.
“I mean Jamie Carragher in this moment, and Roy Keane, I think I need to bring my father,” he said. Carragher and CBS Sports Golazo table shared a laugh before the ex-Liverpool man said: “It’s a deal!”
Carragher has been the centre of the Salah dispute this week following the forward’s post-match interview on Saturday. Salah cast doubt over his future at Anfield after being named on the bench in three straight games by Arne Slot.
The former defender, who is a pundit on Sky Sports and CBS Sports, was highly critical of Salah during Monday Night Football. “I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game,’ Carragher said. “Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst, I do not think it was.

“I think whenever Mo Salah stops in a mixed zone, which he’s done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it is choreographed by him and his agent to cause maximum damage and to strengthen his own position.
“He did that 12 months ago and I called him out on this show about it. He played on the heartstrings of the Liverpool supporters. Liverpool were top of the league and he’d scored the wining goal at Southampton.
“That was the time to come out and put pressure on the Liverpool ownership. For the rest of the season you have banners in the crowd saying ‘Give Mo his dough’.
“He’s chosen this weekend to do this now and he’s waited for a bad result, they’ve conceded a last minute goal. The Liverpool supporters, the manager, the whole club feels like it is in the gutter at the moment, and he’s chosen that time to go for the manager and maybe try and get him sacked.
“That’s the way I felt about it.” Despite his rant, Carragher apologised on Tuesday after Liverpool’s win over Inter. He said: “Mo, I apologise I’ve upset you. I love you as the Liverpool player, but you just need to behave yourself off the pitch.”
