A major update has been issued by police after a woman was injured in a horror shooting in Salford. A property on Wally Square was blasted with the gun last Thursday evening (December 4).

Greater Manchester Police said it’s suspected a man walked up to the home before shooting the firearm after arriving at the scene with another male on an electric bike.

A woman, aged in her 20s, received a minor injury during the incident. Detectives are continuing their investigations and trying to establish the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

The force has now confirmed that a third suspect has been arrested in connection with the firearms discharge. A 22-year-old man is now being questioned in custody on suspicion of firearms offences.

Two other people arrested, men, aged 24 and 28, who were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, have been released on bail, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. This includes anyone with any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the incident.

Detective Inspector Paul Costello, from GMPs Major Incident Team, said: “Receiving reports of a firearms discharge is always concerning for us and something we will never tolerate on the streets of Greater Manchester.

“We are committed to establishing the exact circumstances of this incident and are appealing for anyone who might be able to help solve this case to come forward”
