After a strong weekend, the film entered the weekdays on an even stronger note, with its performance improving each day. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has already amassed nearly Rs. 186 crore nett at the Indian box office.
The movie is performing exceptionally well in international markets too. Akshay Kumar tweeted in praise of the film, and Hrithik Roshan followed suit. While Hrithik appreciated the craft and the team behind the film, he added a remark that has now triggered intense backlash.
Hrithik stated that he does not agree with the film’s politics and mentioned that filmmakers must shoulder responsibility as citizens of the world. His statement has invited severe criticism from netizens, who argue that Dhurandhar merely portrays the brutality of Pakistani terrorists and their ghastly attacks on India.
Some online users felt that Hrithik is indirectly sympathizing with the perpetrators and are calling him out, pointing out that India has suffered greatly due to multiple attacks carried out by Pakistani terrorists. Meanwhile, fans believe Hrithik was hinting at the film allegedly glorifying a political party.
