Emergency services attended a blaze on Heriot Bridge following reports received at around 10.40am.
Two men were taken to hospital following the incident.
Buses were rerouted while the public was asked to avoid the area.

Police Scotland issued an updated statement saying: “Emergency services attended and the fire was out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“Two men were taken to hospital for treatment. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
“Thank you to the public for their patience.”
Several police vehicles were in attendance, while firefighters were seen on a top floor balcony.
Heriot Bridge is a street leading up from the Grassmarket towards George Heriot’s School.
Due to the road closure, Lothian buses were unable to serve:
- Forrest Road and Grassmarket and were instead diverted via Lauriston Place and Lady Lawson Street towards Hermiston Gait.
- Bread Street and Grassmarket and were instead diverted via Lothian Road and Lauriston Place towards The Jewel.
