Two teenagers from Cardiff have been charged with preparing acts of terrorism. Rhys Edwards and Talan Vincent, both aged 18, have been jointly charged with the alleged offences, which are contrary to the Terrorism Act 2006.

They have both appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, and have been remanded in custody until Friday. They will appear before the Old Bailey tomorrow. Don’t miss a court report by signing up to our crime newsletter here.

A statement read: “Counter Terrorism Policing Wales have charged two 18-year-old males, following arrests made on Wednesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 20.

“The males, Rhys Edwards and Talan Vincent, from Cardiff in South Wales, have been charged jointly with preparation of acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

“Edwards appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday, November 21, where he was remanded in custody to appear before the Central Criminal Court on December 12.

“Vincent appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday, November 22, where he was also remanded in custody to appear before the Central Criminal Court on December 12.”
