Leeds are starting to discover which transfer targets are unlikely to join in January.
The 49ers have a shortlist as they aim to help Daniel Farke steer Leeds clear of the bottom three, but some are easier to land than others.
For example, Harry Wilson is keen to stay with Fulham amid interest from Leeds, whilst Como want to keep Martin Baturina despite the Croatian having admirers at Elland Road.
Now – according to talkSPORT – Promise David is unlikely to move to Yorkshire either.

With only three Premier League games before the winter transfer window opens, Leeds are unlikely to completely change their image in time for David – who Jesse Marsch admires – to consider joining.

While this is ultimately a blow for Leeds, there is one silver lining in the fact David has made this clear now – rather than waste the club’s precious time during the winter transfer window.

Leeds need to be quick in what is historically a difficult market to navigate, considering clubs rarely want to sell their best players in the middle of the season, so time will be of the essence.
Therefore, it is a positive in some ways that Leeds can cross David off the list now, and focus on targeting players who are more willing to move to Yorkshire for a relegation battle.
