Jonny Bairstow struck an unbeaten 49 as MI Emirates raced to a seven-wicket victory against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in International League T20.

Bairstow’s side reached their target of 123 inside 14 overs, with the England international hitting seven fours in his 38-ball innings.

The Emirates opener added 64 with Tom Banton (29), while Kamindu Mendis (10) ended the encounter with a match-winning six.

The Knight Riders opening partnership of Phil Salt (17) and Alex Hales (6) failed to fire after being put into bat, while United Arab Emirates batter Alishan Sharafu top-scored with 38.

Liam Livingstone was caught by Banton off the bowling of Mendis (3-21) for just two, while Emirates lost their last five wickets for 12 runs.

Three of the tail fell to Afghanistan seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi, who finished with figures of 4-14 and whose dismissal of Ajay Kumar saw the Knight Riders bowled out for 122 with three balls to spare.
