Birmingham City should re-sign Che Adams in the January transfer window according to former Blues striker Clinton Morrison.

Blues could be on the hunt for a new centre-forward in January with the future of Lyndon Dykes up in the air.

Dykes wants regular football in the build-up to Scotland’s World Cup campaign and Chris Davies has only handed him two Championship starts this season.

The striker’s departure would pave the way for Blues to bring in another centre-forward and Dykes’ international teammate Adams would be a popular choice.

Adams netted 22 goals in the 2018/19 season for Blues before securing a big money move to Southampton and remains a firm favourite with supporters.

The 29-year-old was linked with a return to St Andrew’s during the summer window but it is understood that the deal was never actively pursued, despite Adams having plenty of admirers in the club’s corridors of power.

Adams enjoyed an impressive first campaign in Italy with Torino, scoring nine goals in Serie A, but he hasn’t been a fixture in their starting XI this season.

Morrison thinks Adams might be the striking solution Blues need in January.

Speaking to Free Bets, Morrison said: “I’ve been hearing a lot of things about trying to sign Che Adams. He’s been doing fairly well in Italy and I do think he’s the type of striker that they probably need.

“But it’ll be interesting because he’s only going to go there if he’s playing regularly because with Scotland in the World Cup, he’ll want to be starting in that tournament and the only way he does that is by playing and scoring goals.”
