A former Liverpool star has been backed for a potential return as Mohamed Salah’s ideal replacement

Fulham’s Harry Wilson has been tipped for a surprise return to Liverpool. The right-wing spot has become problematic for the Reds amid Mohamed Salah’s very public row with Arne Slot.
The Dutch manager dropped Salah after their 4-1 Champions League humbling by PSV, and the Egyptian featured for only 45 minutes across the following three matches. After the 3-3 draw with Leeds United, Salah hit out at the club for “throwing me under the bus”, which resulted in him being axed from the matchday squad for the Inter Milan game.
Whilst Slot insists there’s no need for Salah to depart, he may soon need to find a replacement if they cannot resolve their issues. Ex-Everton and Fulham striker Tomasz Radzinski believes Liverpool have already offloaded Salah’s successor in Wilson, who has been plying his trade in London since 2022.
Speaking to ComeOn, the Polish star said: “Harry Wilson to Liverpool, why not? If he can perform this well for Fulham. Before Mohamed Salah became one of the greatest players in the Premier League, he had to move to a few other clubs as well.
“At Chelsea he was not really rated and he had to go to Italy only to come back to the Premier League to be exceptionally fantastic. Anything can happen. The sky is the limit.

“It’s all up to the individual himself and obviously the chemistry together with the manager at that moment and the way the team is playing.
“If you come to a team and you start playing a new formation and style, it’s going to be strange for your head. So you’re going to have to adapt to that as well. But, Wilson can do it.”
Wilson came through the youth ranks at Anfield, spending eight years at the club between 2014 and 2022. The Wales international made only two senior appearances for Liverpool, both in domestic cup competitions, and was regularly loaned out during his time there.
Following his £12million switch to Fulham in 2022, the winger has scored 29 times and provided 39 assists. The Welshman has been producing excellent performances for both club and country this campaign.

Meanwhile, Radzinski believes critics are being premature in their assessment of Liverpool’s current situation and insists the summer signings will eventually justify their arrivals. He added: “It’s a very funny situation over at Liverpool, so it’s hard to judge from the outside.
“We don’t know what’s going on at the training ground. I think they have enough players. I think they’ve done, in my eyes, fantastic deals in the summer.
“I just don’t think the players who they brought are performing at the moment, but it probably has nothing to do with their personalities or whatever. It’s just sometimes when you come from a different competition, different teams, not every team suits every player. This is how it is.”
