The first reactions for Final Destination: Bloodlines have landed – and it already sounds like it’s a hit.
The upcoming sixth film in the popular horror franchise, which marks the first entry in 14 years, sees death stalk a new set of victims as a college student tries to find a way to end the cycle.
Ahead of the film’s release in cinemas next month, those lucky few to have already seen Bloodlines have taken to social media to share their first reactions to the legacy sequel.
“Bloodlines is absolutely nuts. The franchise really takes its extremely brutal deaths to an entirely different level,” wrote The Direct’s Russ Milheim on X.
“Bloodlines has a very unique hook that should satisfy audiences and lifelong fans, while the family dynamic is a wonderful addition.”

“Amusingly gory and self aware, with a hospital set piece for the ages, Final Destination: Bloodlines gives off major FD2 vibes as it embraces an investigative narrative and a nasty sense of violent humour,” said The AU Review’s Peter Gray. “Fans will eat this up! Big, bloody, fun!”
That Hashtag Show’s Hunter Bolding described Tony Todd’s return as William Bludworth as “incredibly poignant and emotional”, with Bloodlines marking the actor’s final film following his death last year.
“The kills are glorious and inventive and shows that this concept still works well for movies,” he added.

Critic Courtney Howard said that Bloodlines is a “fun, frightening nightmare factory of gleeful gore”, adding that the death traps “perfectly finesse tension, dark comedy and blood-drenched carnage.”
“Legacy sequel done right,” wrote NBC Universal’s Christopher Ikonomou. “Final Destination: Bloodlines ups the ante on all fronts, from performances and chemistry to its splatter and disaster.
“Tony Todd’s last on-screen appearance is truly special. This movie knows it’s fun and revels in the absurdity while keeping its heart.”
As well as Todd, Bloodlines stars Brec Bassinger, Dear Evan Hansen’s Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt and Tinpo Lee.
Final Destination: Bloodlines releases on 14 May in the UK and 16 May in the US.
