Lukas Nmecha is set to miss another game for Leeds through injury.
Daniel Farke confirmed in his press conference on Friday that the Germany international needs another scan on his damaged hamstring, which ruled him out of the 3-3 draw against Liverpool.

It is a blow for Leeds considering how well the striker was performing before his injury โ scoring three goals in four Premier League appearances โ and fans will presumably be even more concerned when they see just how much Lukas Nmecha has struggled over the years.
History suggests Leeds United fans should get used to Lukas Nmecha absences
This latest hamstring injury is not exactly a freak occurrence for the German.
As you can see, Nmecha โ who Leeds insiders are yet to view as a success โ has struggled quite badly with injuries throughout his career, even missing 39 games in the 2023/24 campaign.
Even more worryingly, you can see that it was a hamstring injury which ruled the Leeds No.14 out for 213 days of that 2023/24 season.
It is unclear whether Nmecha has now damaged the same hamstring as he did that term, but either way, his medical history offers little hope that this current injury will be a one-off.

Leeds United should consider signing a new striker amid doubts over Dominic Calvert-Lewin as well
Nmecha โ who Gary Neville praised recently โ is not the only striker at Leeds who is prone to injuries.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has struggled with so many injuries throughout his career that the Leeds No.9 even has two pages of fitness problems on his Transfermarkt page.

Fortunately, Farke has been able to get 15 and 14 appearances out of Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin respectively so far this season, but the warning signs are quite clearly there.
If Leeds fail to sign another striker in January, they run the risk of entering the crucial stages of a relegation battle with only Joel Piroe to lean on โ that is, if the Dutchman doesnโt depart in January amid a personal struggle for game time.
