Emergency services have descended on the Port of Liverpool. Merseyside Police confirmed officers and paramedics are currently at Seaforth Docks following a “serious industrial incident”.
It was reported at around 10.15am that a man aged in his 60s had been involved in an incident with a fork lift truck. A spokesperson for the force said the Health and Safety Executive has also been notified.
A spokesperson for Peel Ports also confirmed emergency services are on site and all operations have been suspended until further notice. They added: “We can confirm we are dealing with a serious incident at the Port of Liverpool.
“The emergency services are on site and all operations at the location have been suspended until further notice. Our priority at this stage is ensuring that the emergency services can assist with the incident, along with managing the safety and welfare of all colleagues.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that emergency services are currently at Seaforth Docks following a serious industrial incident earlier this morning, Wednesday, April 30.
“It was reported at around 10.15am that a man aged in his 60s had been involved in an incident with a fork lift truck.
“Emergency services, including Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service, remain at the scene and the Health and Safety Executive has also been notified. More updates will be provided at a later stage.”
