Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been a surprise star of the season for Leeds.
The England international arrived at Elland Road on a free transfer back in August to very little excitement, having only scored 12 Premier League goals across the last three seasons combined.
However, the Leeds No.9 has already netted four goals in just 13 Premier League games under Daniel Farke.
Glenn Murray has now been discussing Dominic Calvert-Lewin on BBC 5 Live Sport, where he highlighted just how much more confident the striker looks in terms of his fitness.

Like Lukas Nmecha, Calvert-Lewin has a patchy injury history, which contributed to his struggles at Everton in recent seasons.

However, the 28-year-old is yet to miss a game through injury since his first appearance for Leeds in the 0-0 draw against Newcastle, and Murray puts it down to the striker becoming more “robust” since leaving Everton.
The man who scored 204 career goals said: (He is) playing with confidence. Not necessarily in his ability – that was always there and it was never in question – he’s playing with confidence in his body. I think that’s what let him down over recent seasons.

“Game by game, day by day, just getting through and becoming more and more robust. Having that trust in your body that you can open up a little bit and you’re not protecting yourself all the time. He’s a brilliant athlete, he’s a big strong physical lad, he can run channels, he’s one of those modern-day forwards, he’s a wonderful header of the ball. He is the complete package, he just needs momentum and belief in his body.”

In his last undisturbed season, Calvert-Lewin bagged 21 goals in 39 games for Everton during the 2020/21 campaign, so if he can continue to steer clear of injuries, he could end up being a huge favourite at Leeds.

In response, he said: “If I was the manager and I’ve got Calvert-Lewin up front, I’ve got a right-footer on the right and a left-footer on the left, and I’m whipping balls in for him.”
Leeds do currently have a system like this with Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson starting as wing-backs against Chelsea and Liverpool.
However, Leeds are averaging 18 crosses per game in the Premier League this season, a tally bettered by seven other clubs, so there is room for improvement when it comes to swinging deliveries into the box.
