President Donald Trump commented on the “terrible attack” in Sydney, saying, “11 dead, 29 badly wounded. That was an anti-Semitic attack, obviously. And that – I just want to pay my respects to everybody.

The president spoke to reporters following a violent weekend, which also claimed the lives of Americans both at home, at Brown University, and overseas in Syria.

.@POTUS addresses the weekend’s loss of life: “I want to to just pay my respects… Brown University — nine injured and two are looking down on us right now from Heaven. Likewise, in Australia, as you know, that was a terrible attack… In Syria, we [lost] three great Patriots.”

“In Australia, you probably read, there’s been, and it’s been a very, very brave person, actually, who went and attacked frontally one of the shooters and saved a lot of lives,” Trump said. “So, pretty seriously wounded. Great respect to that man that did it. But we’re here for Christmas – celebrate. And I think today we can first say loudly: we celebrate Hanukkah.”
