A burglary suspect has been detained near Lindridge Road after being spotted by specialist police officers in Sutton Coldfield

A man has been arrested in Sutton Coldfield on suspicion of committing a break-in.
The burglary suspect was seen on Sunday (December 14) afternoon by officers from members of West Midlands Police’s Operation Skybridge team who were patrolling in the town.
The team were working with the Sutton Trinity Neighbourhood Team and the force’s drones team when the saw a man allegedly ‘trying to evade them’.

He was then chased on foot and arrested near Lindridge Road, shortly before 3pm.
He was detained on suspicion of burglary and quizzed by officers.

In a statement, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in Sutton Coldfield.
“Officers from our Op Skybridge team were patrolling around Sutton Coldfield today alongside the Sutton Trinity neighbourhood team and our drones team.
“The officers spotted a man who tried to evade them.
“And following a foot patrol, he was arrested near Lindridge Road, just before 3pm.”

The statement continued: “Op Skybridge officers continue to carry out proactive enforcement across Birmingham, where they target offenders and disrupt crime.
“Deploying to different areas of the city, they have already secured some significant results.”
