ITV Good Morning Britain was halted for some tragic news earlier this morning.
ITV presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were delivering the headlines today (December 15), before passing over to Ranvir Singh for a sad news story.
The presenter revealed that Hollywood icon Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, had been found dead at their Los Angeles residence.
Ranvir said: “The legendary director Rob Reiner, who’s known for his films When Harry Met Sally and The Princess Bride, has been found dead in his home in Los Angeles alongside his wife, Michele. Police say they’re investigating an apparent murder.”

The host then handed over to correspondent, Ira Spitzer, who was reporting live from the States for the devastating news, WalesOnline reported.
Ira said: “Well, the families of Rob and Michele Reiner have confirmed the death of the legendary Hollywood actor and director, 78-year-old Rob Reiner, as well as his wife Michele, who was 10 years his junior.
“In what police are calling an apparent homicide, anonymous sources have told the Associated Press, who are not authorised to speak publicly yet, that investigators are looking at stab wounds in this case.
“They are also questioning a family member, so certainly much more to come out about what could have led to this tragic outcome.
“But tributes are now pouring in for someone who made a huge impact on the history of television and film.”
Fans of Rob and his wife have since issued their condolences following their deaths, with one writing on X: “Very sad news. A thought for Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer.”

A third added: “Shocked and saddened by the tragic news of Rob Reiner’s passing. What a filmography – he managed to move effortlessly from genre to genre.
“And also directed two of the funniest films of all time – This Is Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally… A huge loss.”
