Turkish Airlines has opened a new lounge at Edinburgh Airport, which becomes the carrier’s first European lounge outside its Istanbul base.

The airline’s Edinburgh lounge, located on Level 2, has capacity for up to 149 guests with facilities including an open buffet, relaxation area with TVs and wifi, two prayer rooms and an accessible restroom.

The lounge is open to business class passengers and Miles&Smiles loyalty scheme members with Elite, Elite Plus and Elite Corporate Club status travelling in all classes. It can also be used by travellers with a lounge membership card.

Turkish Airlines currently operates 10 weekly flights between Edinburgh and its global hub at Istanbul Airport.

Mehmet Akif Konar, the carrier’s chief operations officer,said: “This investment demonstrates our deep commitment to our European operations, where we already possess a strong presence.”
