A man whose body was found at a property in Edinburgh has been named by police as Elvis Palla. The 34-year-old was pronounced dead at Watson Crescent in Gorgie on Saturday December 13.
Emergency crews attended and remained in the area for some time. Images from the address showed police cars parked up on the street while a uniformed officer could be seen standing inside a property.
Christos Nikiforidis appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday December 15, charged with murder. The 34-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody for consideration of bail.
He is due to appear again at the same court on Tuesday. After the incident on Saturday, police reassured locals there was no risk to the public – however officers remain on the scene while an investigation continues.
