ScotsActive members patrol Glasgow’s streets at night
The Scots team of women and men formed after losing faith in Police Scotland
The aim is to “keep the streets safe” and protect women, children and vulnerable people at night over fears they could be attacked or targeted by predators.
The group says they decided to start the initiative in August after losing faith in Police Scotland’s presence in the city.
And they claim to have already helped homeless people, those attempting to take their own lives and young scared females walking alone in the dark.
A spokesperson for the group revealed to The Scottish Sun: “We have saved multiple people’s lives from suicide, we have stopped women getting followed, we have helped in many situations where women have been under fear and alarm.”

ScotsActive formed in August after losing faith in Police Scotland‘s presence in Glasgow.
A member for ScotsActive said: “We encountered two women who were frightened as a man was watching and pestering them.
“Some of our team members walked the two ladies to their house as they were too frightened to walk by themselves.
“The man that was following was later found hiding in a bushed area.”

ScotsActive’s nightly route includes going up and around Clydeside, Renfrew Street, Glasgow Green and the Barras.
And locals have flooded the footage with support, thanks and even offering their help.
One female commented: “To each and everyone of you, thank you for trying to protect our woman and girls and for saving the young girl.”
Another said: “Well done guys and thank you for keeping us safe. Police Scotland you should be ashamed. These men will soon take over as we have no faith in the police anymore.”
Hundreds of locals have commented with their support for ScotsActive on social media
Tory MSP for Glasgow, Annie Wells, said many locals feel Glasgow is at “breaking point” and blamed Police Scotland’s budget cuts for the formation of ScotsActive.
She said: “Savage SNP cuts to local councils and public services mean many people feel like Glasgow is at breaking point.
“It should never have reached a point where some feel like they have no option but to take matters into their own hands.
“SNP ministers should ensure that those fully qualified to do so have the resources they need to keep people safe in the city, particularly at night-time.”
Last month we reported on several cases of women being raped in the streets of Glasgow.
Cops were rushed to Sauchiehall Lane after reports of an alleged early morning horror sex attack.
Sex predator Mihai Nicolae Patran was jailed for nine years after raping a doctor on Mitchell Street.
And officers locked down a popular park in Paisley after a woman was viciously attacked by a man.

Cops insist that they already patrol Glasgow at night after being asked to comment on the formation of ScotsActive.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Community officers carry out patrols in the city centre and we would encourage anyone with any concerns to approach them with any issues.
“For non-emergencies and general enquiries, members of the public can call 101, and 999 in the event of an emergency.”
ScotsActive has also launched a GoFundMe looking to raise up to £250 for new “protective gear” to wear during the winter.
