An Edinburgh man found dead at a block of flats on Saturday has been named locally. Elvis Palla sadly died at a property in Watson Crescent, Gorgie, on December 13.

Emergency services quickly attended and Elvis, 34, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the death and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

Christos Nikiforidis, 34, made no plea and was remanded in custody for consideration of bail. He is due to appear again at the same court on Tuesday.

Cops reassured locals there is no risk to the public following the incident. Police remain on the scene while the investigation into the death takes place.

A statement from Police Scotland reads: “The 34-year-old man who died at a property in Watson Crescent, Edinburgh on Saturday, 13 December, 2025 can be named as Elvis Palla.

“A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the death and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 15 December, 2025.”
