A police search has been launched following the disappearance of a 39-year-old man from Cambuslang. James Laird was last seen in the Glasgow city centre area on Monday, December 15 – concerns for his welfare are growing.

James was seen in Lawmoor Street, Gorbals, around 8.35am before he was spotted around two hours later in the Saltmarket area.

The 39-year-old is known to frequent Glasgow city centre, he is also known to use public transport. He is described as white and around 5ft 8inches tall. When he was last seen he was wearing a black top, a black gilet, dark-blue trousers and black boots with a black beanie hat.

James’ concerned family say this is ‘completely out of character’ for him, with anyone with information urged to come forward.

Inspector Alex Marshall said: “It is completely out of character for James to go missing and his family are extremely concerned for his wellbeing.

“He is known to frequent Glasgow city centre and uses public transport. I urge anyone who has seen him or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.”
