A driver has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was hit by a car in Sidcup during an alleged argument. Police were called to Foots Cray High Street at around 8.20pm on Sunday, December 14 to reports of a person hurt.

Upon arrival, they found the victim, a 40-year-old man, with injuries consistent with a collision. It’s believed he was knocked over soon after an ‘altercation’ with the man in custody.

The two men are thought to be known to each other, the Metropolitan Police said. The injured man has since been discharged from hospital, the force added.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 20.20hrs on Sunday, 14 December to Foots Cray High Street, Sidcup to reports of a man injured. It is understood the 40-year-old victim was involved in an altercation with a man thought to be known to him.

“Following a verbal exchange the second man got into a car which was subsequently in collision with the victim. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries.

“He has since been discharged. A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into custody where he remains.
